As a young man, Robert Guilleman was a well-known artist; his
work was shown in galleries and museums around the world. But
he wanted more. “I wanted to get people involved in art,” he
decided. Now called Sidewalk Sam, he uses his artistic talents to
create sidewalk masterpieces that bring people from all walks
of life together –and even transformed Boston’s busiest highway
into a field of flowers. Recently confined to a wheelchair he
continues his community art saying, “I have to fulfill my humanity … to make my life worthwhile … to serve my fellow man.”
